Both versions of Death Note end with Light/Kira's final defeat, with Ryuk the shinigami personally writing down Light's name to finish him off, but the anime's version is missing some key
Hello! Came to add there's another novel called L: Change the WorLd following an alternative timeline where L is alive, too! It has a movie adaptation by the same name that follows the 2 live-actions, set after Death Note 2: The Last Name, and manga is very recommended, there's 12 volumes + a 13th one called How To Read that contains extra content (facts about the characters, commentary by
- The ending alone made me dislike the whole Anime. So I’m going to say the anime was pretty amazing until the episode that L. died. After that it was so boring I almost couldn’t finish it and I regretted I finish because I just straight up hated the ending. So 9.9/10 score before L. death and 5/10 after L. death. Stupid disgusting ending.

The music composer for this anime is the same as that of death note's. The author of the manga also created Akagi, a similar gambling series. The music for that series is also sick.
